Start: Lagos, Portugal

This leg combines both coastal and bluewater sailing. We will sail along the entire Portuguese coast, round Finisterre, make a stop in La Coruña, and then cross the Bay of Biscay to the small archipelago of the Isles of Scilly before finally reaching the sailing town of Cowes.

We will gather on Celeste on July 5. We start to get to know each other, plan the provisioning, and enjoy a nice dinner ashore in the evening.

On July 6, we will finalize the provisioning and, after a safety briefing, set sail from Lagos.

Our journey will take us past the southwesternmost point of continental Europe as we head north. Along the way to La Coruña in northern Spain, we will make a few stops, potentially in Nazaré, Porto, Baiona, and Illa de Monteagudo. The exact route will be planned together, always considering the weather conditions.

Upon arrival in La Coruña, we will prepare for the renowned Bay of Biscay crossing. After exploring the city, we will set sail for the Isles of Scilly, located southwest of the English coast.

The Isles of Scilly are a hidden paradise in this part of Europe, offering a perfect stopover for a day of exploration.

From there, we will continue to the sailing hub of Cowes, where preparations for the prestigious Fastnet Race will be in full swing. You may even catch a glimpse of some incredible 100-foot-plus superyachts.
